Gan Eden (The Garden of Eden)

 

(Original painting: oil on canvas, 60 x 80cm).

 

Painted while under the influence of Rousseau, this garden scene is a Bible illustration with a naive flavour. Someone's been mowing the lawn very carefully, and tending to the plants most professionally. The lion is reclining with the lamb (or sheep), and the tiger is happily benevolent too.

 

This was originally painted for our son's room, but it works very well as a children's book illustration.
