Tell it to your children (Erzahl es deinen Kindern).

With Berlin-based publishing company, Ariella Books, I am working on a new German-language Torah for children, written by Hanna Liss and Bruno Landthaler. After more than a year of work, and over thirty original paintings later, we are now about to publish the third volume, Vayikra (Leviticus). The first volume has already been awarded the highly-regarded "Book of the Month" recommendation by the German Academy for Children's Literature (Deutsche Akademie fur Kinder- und Jugendliteratur).

In making these illustrations, I drew inspiration from the work of Michael Falk, German-Jewish emigre and long-time resident of Sde Warburg. His "naive" Israeli art, which in truth is not so naive, is beautifully composed and full of exquisite and surprising detail. In the same sense, I greatly admire the very spiritual art of Baruch Nachshon, with his unique visions of a perfected world. And I salute the illustrator of the 1960's Child Bible, Charles Front, whose simple and beautiful work remains, in my view, unsurpassed.
